The Huawei Mate80 RS will be equipped with dual telephoto lenses.

It is expected to be the dual-lens telephoto lens combination on the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, which is Huawei’s first in the industry and currently the only one of its kind.

It uses a single module to integrate 3.7x mid-telephoto and 9.4x super-telephoto optical focal lengths, sharing a 1/1.28-inch main camera-grade ultra-large sensor.

This allows for seamless switching between two lenses with different focal lengths using the same lens module, successfully reducing the footprint by a quarter compared to traditional solutions.

In addition to the dual telephoto lenses, previous leaks also mentioned that the Mate80 RS will feature a dual-layer OLED screen of approximately 6.9 inches.

By adding another OLED light-emitting unit on top of a single-layer OLED light-emitting unit, dual-layer OLED has advantages such as higher brightness, lower power consumption, and longer screen life compared to traditional OLED technology.

Aside from the higher cost, dual-layer OLED has significant advantages over ordinary OLED in all other aspects, and Apple is considering equipping it with iPhones.

The blogger Digital Chat Station also revealed that the Huawei Mate80 RS engineering prototype tested a titanium alloy frame and a ceramic-textured back cover, and that “the factory prototype design was very high-quality.”

This is also a tradition of the RS series. Last year, the Huawei Mate 70 RS was the only one in the industry to be equipped with a high-gloss titanium basalt structure, which is designed to be sturdy and drop-resistant. The mid-frame is made of titanium alloy, which is significantly harder than the titanium alloy mid-frame of the iPhone.

However, the “ceramic texture back cover” means that the Huawei Mate 80 RS will not be equipped with a real ceramic material back cover. Instead, it will be made of special glass that has a warm and smooth feel and texture, but is lighter in weight, similar to the effect of Xiaomi’s previous Dragon Crystal Glass.

In terms of core configuration, the Huawei Mate 80 series is expected to be the first to use the Kirin 9030, which will improve performance through architecture optimization and will be shipped with the new HarmonyOS 6 system, further enhancing performance and smoothness.
