Fast Technology reported that Samsung India officially announced that its eighth-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8, broke pre-order records in the Indian market, garnering over 271,000 orders within 72 hours of launch.

In contrast, last year it took Samsung 15 days to receive a similar number of pre-orders in India, indicating a significant increase in market enthusiasm this year. Samsung also stated that 45% of the new pre-order record came from second-tier and lower-tier cities in India, reflecting the rapidly growing acceptance of foldable screen products in non-first-tier markets and unlocking enormous market potential.

In terms of pricing, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at 199,999 Indian Rupees, the Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at 179,999 Indian Rupees, and the Galaxy Z Flip8 starts at 124,999 Indian Rupees.

For the Chinese market, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at 14,999 yuan, the Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at 12,999 yuan, and the Galaxy Z Flip8 starts at 8,999 yuan, covering different price ranges.

Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold8 series has added a new wide-folding model, the Galaxy Z Fold8, which is also the first foldable screen phone in the Android camp to adopt a wide-folding form factor.

The device features a brand-new 10:16 external screen and a 4:3 internal screen. With the wider screen ratio, the top and bottom black bars are significantly reduced when watching videos, enhancing the visual immersion and providing users with a tablet-like experience.

In terms of hardware configuration, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Ultra for Galaxy flagship platform, a built-in 4800mAh battery, a 50-megapixel dual rear camera, and two 10-megapixel front cameras. The overall configuration is balanced, taking into account both performance and daily shooting needs.
