According to the blogger Digital Chat Station, currently only one Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 model is scheduled to be released in September.

According to previous news from multiple sources, the Xiaomi 16 series will be the first to launch the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and will be released in September.

From this point of view, the Xiaomi Mi 16 series will exclusively have the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in September.

It is reported that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is manufactured based on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process, adopts the second-generation self-developed Oryon CPU architecture, and the GPU independent cache is increased to 16MB. The GeekBench 6 single-core theoretical performance is set at 4000+, and the multi-core score is 11000+.

In comparison, the single-core score of Snapdragon 8 Elite is around 3100, and the multi-core score is around 9800.

Many netizens wonder why the Xiaomi 16 series does not use the Xuanjie. On the one hand, it is because the volume of Xiaomi’s digital mainstream is large, and the production capacity of the Xuanjie cannot meet it; on the other hand, although the Xuanjie has entered the first echelon in all aspects, there is indeed some gap compared to the comprehensive experience of the Snapdragon flagship, so it is safer to use Snapdragon.

For a long time in the future, the main chips for most of Xiaomi’s mobile phones will still come from Qualcomm, including each generation of flagship phones will also be the first to launch the Snapdragon flagship platform.

The Xuan Ring will mainly be used in some S series, tablets and other products, in parallel with Qualcomm chips.

It is expected that the Xiaomi 16 series will still have two models launched first, namely Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro, one large and one small.

The screen specifications will change slightly, adopting a new R-angle solution and a wide screen ratio, which will look more comfortable overall.

Xiaomi 16 will adopt 1.5K resolution, and Xiaomi 16 Pro will adopt 2K resolution, which is consistent with the previous generation.
