REDMI K100 has been officially released, with a starting price of 2549.15 yuan after national subsidies. It will officially go on sale on October 31.

Today, REDMI Mobile responded to a netizen’s question, “Why does the K100 use the Snapdragon 8 Ultra? Isn’t that a chip released two years ago?”, explaining the chip selection and performance of the new phone.

REDMI stated, “As the saying goes, ‘XXX is old but still XXX,’ the Snapdragon 8 Ultra is indeed not the latest platform, but it is still the leading performance base in its class.”

For most users, the Snapdragon 8 Ultra, powered by Xiaomi’s Surge OS 4, offers a smooth and stable daily experience, with performance capable of handling mainstream games smoothly, providing a stable experience and good energy efficiency.

REDMI also pointed out that, even in some third-party media test data, some games performed as well as the current flagship platform, the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra, with only minor differences in a few aspects such as power consumption.

In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Ultra, the REDMI K100 also features the AI dedicated graphics card D2. The official statement says that this configuration is to allow the standard version to also have a Pro-level gaming experience.

With the support of the AI-powered discrete graphics card D2, the REDMI K100 supports frame interpolation to 165 frames per second for more than 100 games, allowing some games that natively only support 60 frames per second to achieve smoother visuals.

For games that natively support high frame rates, super-frame technology can reduce power consumption, further improving device temperature and battery life.

It is understood that the new phone is equipped with a 6.83-inch 1.5K gaming screen, supports a 165Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3500 nits, and supports Xiaomi’s Green Mountain Eye Protection 4.0.

The REDMI K100 features a built-in 10000mAh high-capacity battery, setting a new record for battery capacity in Xiaomi phones. It also supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging.

According to reports, the battery uses 28% silicon-carbon anode technology, achieving an energy density of 957Wh/L. It can maintain stable discharge performance even in low-temperature environments of -20℃.

In terms of overall configuration, the REDMI K100 does not blindly pursue the latest generation of flagship chips. Instead, it uses a combination of Snapdragon 8 Ultra and AI discrete graphics D2, along with a 165Hz high refresh rate screen and a 10000mAh large battery to further highlight gaming performance and battery life.
