Xiaomi 14 Ultra Will Be Equipped With Ultrasonic Fingerprint Technology
Xiaomi 14 Ultra is currently undergoing tests for a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint solution. This feature is set to make the Xiaomi 14 Ultra the only high-end flagship in the Xiaomi 14 series to support ultrasonic fingerprint technology, said famous leaker Digital Chat Station, on Weibo.
According to the information previously disclosed, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is likely to use Goodix’s ultrasonic under-display fingerprint technology, rather than Qualcomm’s solution. Compared to traditional optical fingerprint solutions, ultrasonic sensors emit pulses that can sense the unique pores and ridges of a fingerprint, creating 3D depth data. This results in higher accuracy, and the ultrasonic method does not require the screen to be at its highest brightness for fingerprint recognition.
A significant advantage of the ultrasonic under-display fingerprint technology is its ability to unlock with wet hands, a common issue with traditional optical fingerprint sensors, which often fail to unlock when wet.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is equipped with Sony’s new 1-inch main camera sensor, the LTY900, an optimized and upgraded version of the Sony IMX989. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra also supports a variable aperture and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), positioning it as Xiaomi’s most powerful imaging flagship to date.
The introduction of ultrasonic fingerprint technology in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, along with its advanced camera capabilities, underscores Xiaomi’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into its flagship devices, enhancing both security and photography experiences for users.
