Xiaomi Mi 14 series has fully pushed Surge OS 2: Fluency and stability greatly improved

according to Zhang Guoquan, director of Xiaomi’s system software department, the Xiaomi 14 series has now fully pushed the Surge OS 2 system.

Some users reported that the battery life of Xiaomi 14 Pro became worse and the heating became more serious after the upgrade.

In this regard, Zhang Guoquan said: “After the upgrade, we will build an index library locally for all internal data to perform AI search. This does consume a lot of power and it will be fine once it is built.”

I would like to remind everyone not to panic if you encounter such a problem. Just wait patiently. If there are still problems later, you can submit user feedback and Xiaomi engineers will solve them in time.

It is understood that Xiaomi Surge OS 2 is equipped with Xiaomi’s deeply self-developed HyperCore Surge kernel, which involves four major root technologies: performance, graphics, network, and security. It focuses on lightness and smoothness, super performance, and ultra-low power consumption.

The HyperCore core brings a new self-developed micro-architecture scheduler, which truly splits the “number of instruction execution cycles” and “number of memory access delay cycles” of task execution from the chip side. Through an integrated frequency modulation mechanism, it coordinates the intelligent allocation of Cache and DDR resources, greatly reducing the CPU idling ratio by 19%.

Xiaomi Pengpai OS 2 supports many innovative features, including AI dynamic wallpaper, AI “movie-like” lock screen, AI writing, AI voice recognition, AI subtitles and AI magic painting.

In addition, Xiaomi Pengpai OS 2 also brings an upgraded version of Xiao Ai – “Super Xiao Ai”, which has evolved from an intelligent voice assistant to a full-eco AI intelligent assistant.
