iPhone 17/Air will not have 5x optical zoom lens: it is still exclusive to Pro
According to The Elec, the supply chain is currently adjusting the production line for the camera modules of the iPhone 17 series.
Judging from the current information, the 5x periscope telephoto is still exclusive to the Pro series, while the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air still lack the super telephoto lens.
There are even reports that the iPhone 17 Air will only be equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera lens to reduce the body thickness.
This will be the thinnest iPhone ever, at just 6mm thick, so a lot of compromises need to be made.
It uses a 6.6-inch Smart Island screen and supports 120Hz high refresh rate. It is equipped with an A19 chip and 8GB of memory.
This device will be a mid-range iPhone that replaces the Plus model, which also means there will be no iPhone 17 Plus in next year’s product line.
