Oppo has already officially released the Reno15 and Reno15 Pro smartphones in China. Despite this, there has been a lot of talk about a possible new version called the Reno15 Pro Max which has not been officially announced yet. However, recent news suggests it could be coming soon, as a device believed to be the Reno15 Pro Max with the model number CPH2811, has appeared on the Geekbench website hinting that the launch might be near.

The device is equipped with the same powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset that is used in the Reno15 and Reno15 Pro models. The prototype used for the benchmark had 12GB of RAM which will help the phone run apps and games without slowing down. It will launch with Android 16 installed along with ColorOS 16 which adds a number of useful features and a polished user interface.

It is a bit confusing at the moment because we don’t know exactly what Oppo plans to do with the Reno15 Pro Max. One possibility is that this model might only be released in global markets which could explain why it wasn’t announced at the same time as the other two phones in China. To make things even more confusing a rumor from late October claimed that the Reno15 Pro Max would remain exclusive to the Chinese market. But according to Oppo’s naming rules, phones with model numbers starting with “CPH” are usually for markets outside China which adds to the confusion.

Earlier reports suggested that the Reno15 Pro Max would come with almost the same features and specifications as the Reno15 Pro. The only exception according to these reports would be the processor with the Pro Max expected to use the Dimensity 9400. This just makes the situation even more confusing for those trying to figure out how the two models compare. We will share more information as soon as we find out the official details.
