Yet another company is set to introduce a smartphone with an integrated telephoto extender
When it comes to smartphones that offer telephoto extender lenses, the Oppo Find X9 Pro and the vivo X300 Pro are among the first names that come to mind, as both were released fairly recently. Now, these phones will soon be joined by the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design which marks Honor’s entry into the growing group of brands offering telephoto extender technology.
Honor recently took to its official Weibo account to announce that the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design will come with support for a telephoto extender lens which will be included as part of the phone’s complete camera kit. This lens is an optional accessory that can be attached to the phone to significantly boost its zoom performance. An image shared by the company, shown below demonstrates that the extender lens is capable of enlarging the native zoom by 2.35x. This addition is expected to improve the quality of long distance shots allowing users to capture distant subjects with greater precision and clarity than the built-in zoom can achieve on its own.

Honor also shared a few sample images that were captured using the telephoto extender lens. Take a look at the images below and tell us what you think about how well the lens performs.

Honor will officially release the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design edition in China on January 19, alongside the Magic8 Pro Air. That means we won’t have to wait much longer to discover all the details about this upcoming smartphone which features a telephoto extender lens.
