Samsung is widely anticipated to introduce the Galaxy S26 lineup toward the end of February 2026. It is also believed that pre orders will begin on the same day as the announcement in at least a few key markets. However, recent reports suggest that Samsung is intentionally avoiding a release date that coincides with Friday the 13th.

According to a report published by News1 Korea Samsung has reportedly finalized March 11, 2026 as the official launch date for the Galaxy S26. The company is said to be deliberately avoiding a March 13 release, as Friday the 13th is widely regarded as an unlucky date in many Western countries. After the official unveiling on February 25, a seven day pre sale window for reservation holders is expected to take place between February 26 and March 4. The broader pre sale for the general public would then reportedly start on March 5.

Looking back at the previous generation, the Galaxy S25 series was officially announced on January 22. Following the announcement, the company held an extended pre sale period that ran for 11 days beginning on January 24 and ending on February 3. Once the pre sale ended, Samsung conducted a three day pre order phase from February 4 to February 6. Deliveries to customers and in store availability officially began on February 7.

Samsung maintained the same pricing structure for the Galaxy S25 series as it did for the Galaxy S24 lineup. However, reports indicate that the company may increase pricing for the Galaxy S26 series, as the ongoing memory chip shortage continues to affect supply chains and production expenses.
