Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite first revealed: performance exceeds Snapdragon 8 Gen2
blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite model is SM8735, and its performance is between Snapdragon 8 Gen2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen3. The first batch of terminals is expected to debut in April next year.
According to the information, in March of this year, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8S Gen3, which is of the same origin as the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and completely inherits the design and parameter system of the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 flagship platform.
Specifically, the Snapdragon 8S Gen3 has the same CPU architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, and supports new hardware ray tracing and Adreno Image Motion Engine 2.0. Its overall performance is at the top flagship level.
For generative AI, Snapdragon 8S Gen3 inherits the same top AI performance of Snapdragon 8 Gen3. Through the performance brought by heterogeneous computing of Hexagon NPU, Kryo CPU and Adreno GPU, Snapdragon 8s Gen3 surpasses or even crushes competitors to varying degrees in AI scenario use cases such as image classification, object detection, image segmentation v2.0, and language understanding.
As the iterative chip of Snapdragon 8s Gen3, Snapdragon 8s Elite is expected to adopt the same architecture design of Snapdragon 8 Elite, that is, Qualcomm’s second-generation custom Oryon CPU, but the CPU frequency will not be as aggressive as Snapdragon 8 Elite.
In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Elite is equipped with Hexagon NPU, which has powerful generative AI capabilities and can achieve multimodal processing on the terminal side. These features are also expected to be integrated into the Snapdragon 8s Elite.
