HMD Global launches modular Fusion phone: Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, customizable accessories

 HMD launched a new modular smartphone Fusion and proposed a modular solution called “Fusion outfits”.

The Fusion smartphone subverts tradition. The Smart Pin intelligent interface integrated on the back allows users to easily connect a variety of shell accessories, realizing instant switching of rich functional modules such as convenient wireless charging, enhanced protective shell, and ring fill light optimized for selfies and live broadcasts, meeting users’ diverse needs in different scenarios.

What’s even more exciting is that HMD encourages users to unleash their creativity and use the open Fusion Development Kit (SDK) combined with 3D printing technology to create unique personalized accessories by hand, making each Fusion an extension of the user’s personality.

In terms of design, Fusion uses an avant-garde translucent plastic shell, which is not only stylish and beautiful, but also inherits the easy-to-repair features of the HMD Skyline series, supporting the quick removal of core components such as the battery and screen, greatly reducing the difficulty and cost of repair. HMD has also joined hands with iFixit and promised to continue to provide original spare parts in the next seven years to ensure the long-term vitality of the device.

In terms of hardware configuration, Fusion is equipped with a 6.56-inch high-definition IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and smooth 90Hz refresh rate, bringing immersive visual enjoyment. The front camera is up to 50 million pixels, and the selfie effect is delicate and natural; the rear camera is equipped with a flagship 108 million pixel main camera and a 2 million pixel depth auxiliary camera, combined with electronic image stabilization (EIS), professional night mode, RAW image direct output and AI HDR technology, whether it is daily shooting or professional creation, it can be done with ease.

In terms of performance, Fusion is equipped with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, supplemented by 6GB/8GB high-speed memory and 128GB/256GB large-capacity storage space, and supports microSD card expansion to ensure smooth multi-tasking and massive data storage.

At the system level, Fusion runs the latest Android 14 operating system and promises to provide up to two years of operating system upgrades and three years of security updates to ensure that users always enjoy the most cutting-edge Android experience.
