Huawei has established a stable iteration rhythm of Pura in the first half of the year and Mate in the second half. Similar to the previous generation Pura 90 series, Huawei’s Pura 100 series will also launch three models: Pura 100, Pura 100 Pro, and Pura 100 Pro Max.

According to a blogger, the Huawei Pura 100 Pro has entered the testing phase. The newly tested screen is a 6.39-inch 1.5K widescreen display, equipped with 8T LTPO technology, using LIPO packaging process, featuring extremely narrow bezels, and supporting BT.2020 color gamut display. The panel is supplied by BOE.

Looking at the specifications, the highlights of this screen are its “wide” and “narrow” dimensions. The advantages of a wide screen are mainly reflected in content reading and multitasking scenarios. Compared to traditional narrow aspect ratios, wide screens have fewer black bars and a fuller picture when watching movies in landscape mode.

When reading text and images, the amount of information per line is greater, and the frequency of page turning is reduced; when operating in split screen, both applications can also get more horizontal space, reducing the feeling of crampedness.

In addition, the 6.39-inch screen with 8T LTPO technology means that it can dynamically adjust the refresh rate according to the content while ensuring a delicate display, thus balancing smoothness and power consumption.

However, not all Pura 100 models will adopt widescreen displays. Reports suggest that the standard Pura 100 will retain a traditional aspect ratio screen to cater to different consumer habits and preferences.

This shows that Huawei is making attempts to refine screen form factors, and the wide screen of the Pura 100 Pro is likely to become an important differentiator in the appearance and experience of the next generation of P series.
