Internationally renowned tech blogger reviews Xiaomi Mi 17 Ultra Leica Edition: A phone that’s more like a camera.

Fast Technology reported that Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun posted on Weibo, sharing the review of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition by internationally renowned tech blogger MKBHD: ” Xiaomi 17 Ultra, a phone that’s more like a camera.”

According to reports, the tech blogger provided feedback on aspects such as imaging and the Leica version, as detailed below:

1. Imaging: “The best overall, like the most fun smartphone camera shooting experience that I’ve ever had”; “The imaging experience is top-notch”; “You can easily shoot 8K video.”

2. Regarding the Leica version, “a deep and innovative integration— from the sensor and hardware to peripheral accessories, and then to highly customizable software, rich shooting modes, and zoom ring.”

He concluded that, most importantly, this is still a Xiaomi phone, with an excellent underlying experience, making it a true flagship.

It is understood that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition is equipped with a Physics Master zoom ring, which adopts a precision mechanical transmission structure. It can detect a minimum displacement of 0.03mm and converts the external rotation angle into a precise digital signal through precise gear meshing.

Meanwhile, the Master Zoom Ring supports customizable functions such as zoom range, focus, and exposure compensation. Simply turn it left or right to quickly and intuitively switch between different image parameters.

In terms of design, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition features the classic red Leica logo on the rear camera area. This is the first time the logo has appeared on a non-Leica brand product. Previously, other co-branded models only retained the “Leica” English logo.
