Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold Galaxy Z TriFold has appeared in the Bluetooth SIG certification database, with five models: SM-D6390, SM-D639N, SM-D639U, SM-D639U1, and SM-D639B.

Different models should represent different markets, which means that Samsung’s tri-fold folding camera will be launched in more markets besides China and South Korea.

Samsung showcased the phone in South Korea last week, although it was inside a glass case and couldn’t be handled. However, it’s confirmed that the phone uses a G-shaped folding design, with the screen divided into three parts. The left and right screens fold towards the middle screen, which is significantly different from the Z-shaped folding design of the Huawei Mate XT Master.

The G-shaped design can protect the screen inside the body after folding, making it relatively safer and more stable, but it requires an additional external screen to assist with daily use.

In addition, Huawei’s Z-shaped design can be configured in three forms: single-screen, dual-screen, and triple-screen, which can be switched freely according to needs, while the G-shaped design can only be switched between single-screen and triple-screen.

The Galaxy Z TriFold has a thickness of 4.2mm when unfolded and 1.2cm-1.5cm when folded, with the crease being almost invisible.

The external screen is 6.5 inches and the internal screen is 10 inches.

This new product will be officially released this month, and analysts predict that it will be priced at around $2,800, which is approximately RMB 19,900.

In comparison, Huawei’s new Mate XTs this year is priced starting at 17,999 yuan.
