The most powerful small-screen flagship! Xiaomi 16 Pro small-screen version is on the way

Recently, the digital circle has ushered in a piece of exciting news for small-screen enthusiasts – Xiaomi 16 Pro may launch a small-screen version, continuing the design style of Xiaomi’s compact flagship. According to reliable information from multiple parties, this highly anticipated new phone is expected to be officially unveiled in the second half of 2025.

It is reported that a blogger revealed that a certain manufacturer is testing an iterative small-screen prototype, equipped with a 6300mAh± battery, a large R-angle ultra-narrow LIPO screen and a periscope telephoto lens. It is expected to be the small-screen version of Xiaomi 16 Pro.

Previous news has shown that the Xiaomi 16 series will adopt a straight-screen design across the board. The standard version and Pro version will maintain their 6.3-inch small-screen flagship positioning , while the Ultra version will be upgraded to 6.85 inches.

Compared with the current market, the 6.3-inch screen size of the Xiaomi 16 Pro small-screen version will be significantly smaller than the 6.7-6.8 inches of the current mainstream flagship, providing a better choice for users who pursue a one-handed operation experience.

It’s worth noting that despite its smaller screen, the Xiaomi Mi 16 Pro small-screen version boasts a significantly improved battery capacity. Rumors suggest the device will feature a 6300mAh battery, a significant improvement over the Xiaomi Mi 15 Pro, addressing the pain point of limited battery capacity in smaller phones.

In terms of the imaging system, according to the Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 16 Pro small-screen version will be equipped with the same 50-megapixel + 1/1.28-inch ultra-large bottom high-dynamic main camera as the large-screen version Pro, and will also be equipped with a periscope telephoto lens to ensure that the small screen does not reduce configuration.

In recent years, with the development of full-screen technology, true small-screen flagships have become less and less common in the market. However, industry insiders analyzed that Xiaomi’s launch of the small-screen Pro version may be to meet the needs of specific user groups for both portability and flagship performance.

Editor’s comments:

While all current information comes from the supply chain and bloggers, and Xiaomi has yet to officially respond, given that the news originates from a report on Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 16 Pro small-screen version is highly credible. For those anticipating a true small-screen flagship, the second half of 2025 could usher in a “small-screen renaissance.”
