vivo X Fold5 debuts second-generation semi-solid-state battery technology

Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao said that last year, the Vivo X Fold3 debuted the Blue Ocean semi-solid-state battery technology, becoming the first folding screen to support normal operation in an extremely cold environment of -20℃.
This year, we conducted similar tests on the X Fold5. The new generation of X Fold5 is not only dustproof and waterproof to the ceiling, but also has a stronger “third protection”. Even if it is placed in a -20°C environment for a long time, it can ensure that all functions can operate normally.

In addition, X Fold5 is the first to use the second-generation semi-solid-state battery technology. Based on the previous generation, we have expanded the solid electrolyte from the positive electrode to the negative electrode,
allowing the X Fold5’s blue ocean battery to achieve normal power supply at -30°C for the first time, and the battery’s antifreeze capability has been upgraded.

It is worth noting that the vivo X Fold5 has reached the industry-leading IP5X level in terms of dust resistance, which means that a small amount of dust intrusion will not affect the normal use of the phone.
In addition to dustproof, vivo X Fold5 also has excellent waterproof performance. It supports IPX8 waterproof and can withstand pressure of 3 meters underwater, far exceeding the common 1.5 meters waterproof depth, becoming the highest level of IPX8 waterproof in folding screen mobile phones. It also supports IPX9 waterproof, whether it is high temperature hot water or high pressure washing, it can easily cope with it.
The phone will be officially released this month.
