Xiaomi Mi 15 series will be the first to launch Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4

Lu Weibing wrote today: “2024 is the turning point for the chip industry. In the next month or so, everyone will see the turning point.”

Most importantly, he revealed that Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship new platform will be greatly upgraded, and the new desktop-level microarchitecture will bring “three super features”: ultra-high main frequency, super performance, and ultra-low power consumption.

Although it is not stated directly, this is actually an official announcement that the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first to launch Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4.

He also emphasized that this chip was jointly defined by Xiaomi and Qualcomm three years ago. After three years of in-depth joint research and development, combined with the comprehensive optimization of the Surge OS system kernel, it will be the most significant performance experience leap in history.

It is reported that the Xiaomi 15 series will be launched in October, and the first two models will be released, namely Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro.

The world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen4 uses TSMC’s 3nm process and Qualcomm’s self-developed Nuvia Phoenix architecture. The super-core frequency has reached 4.2GHz, fully matching the Apple A18 series, and may eventually take the lead.

In terms of other configurations, Xiaomi 15 is still a small-size straight-edge straight-screen solution, equipped with a 1.5K straight screen, a metal middle frame, a glass body, the rear camera uses a square high-quality DECO, supports ultrasonic fingerprint unlocking, and is equipped with a 50-megapixel large-bottom main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, and a 50-megapixel 3.X upright telephoto macro triple camera combination.

Xiaomi 15 Pro continues to be a comprehensive flagship, adopting a 2K micro-curved screen solution. In addition to the regular body, there is also a version with a titanium middle frame. It also supports ultrasonic fingerprint unlocking and will be supported by satellite communication technology. In terms of imaging, it has a 50-megapixel ultra-large bottom main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The periscope telephoto camera that has been absent for three years has finally returned.
