After a short break from releasing security fixes, Samsung is starting to roll out fresh updates again. The company is now providing new security patches to several of its high end Galaxy phones including every model in the Galaxy S24 lineup.

Like most Samsung updates, this one became available in South Korea before anywhere else. It should roll out to global markets soon. The firmware version ends with CYK2 and the size is about 300 MB, making it a relatively small update.

This is expected, considering the update contains only security improvements. The November 2025 security update fixes close to three dozen issues found in both Android and Samsung’s own system components. Some of these issues specifically target devices that use certain Exynos processors, including the Exynos 2400 that powers most Galaxy S24 and S24+ models in many regions.

Naturally, the update is based on One UI 8 (Android 16) marking the second big OS upgrade for the Galaxy S24 family. But Samsung isn’t slowing its software efforts. The company is already planning ahead and in the first half of next year, the 2024 flagship devices are scheduled to receive the One UI 8.5 update. That update is already under development for several Galaxy devices and is expected to bring further enhancements and improvements to the software experience.

To update your Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, or S24 FE to the latest software version, start by opening Settings on your phone. Navigate to the Software update section and then tap Download and install. The device will check for the most recent version and guide you through the installation process ensuring your phone stays up to date.
