Samsung Confirms Galaxy Z TriFold Has No S Pen Compatibility
The Galaxy Z TriFold come with an impressively large 10 inch display which is more like a small tablet than a typical phone. Its wide screen provides plenty of space making it an excellent choice for using the S Pen for writing, sketching or other creative work.
Although Samsung offered S Pen compatibility on some of the older Galaxy Z Fold devices, the company hasn’t shown much interest in keeping that feature in its more recent releases. The same pattern seems to apply to its first tri-fold device as well.
Samsung Is Dropping S Pen Support on Its Foldables
Samsung has officially stated on its website that the Galaxy Z TriFold does not support the S Pen. This means that no matter what else comes in the box the S Pen is definitely not included.
A few users who really enjoy using a stylus may have believed that purchasing an S Pen separately would allow them to use it with the Galaxy Z TriFold but that’s not the case. The inner foldable display does not support the S Pen at all.
This isn’t very surprising, since the Galaxy Z Fold 7 also lacks S Pen compatibility. Samsung appears to be stepping away from stylus support on its foldables, possibly because the company has decided it’s not worth continuing with this feature.
Some people may feel that Samsung really missed out on a valuable opportunity here, especially since adding S Pen support would make a lot of sense for a large and versatile device like the Galaxy Z TriFold. The size and shape of this device is naturally lends itself to stylus use which could enhance both creativity and productivity. Despite that Samsung does not seem to be focused on maintaining S Pen support for its foldable models anymore. Whether this will change later is something we’ll just have to wait and see.
