According to Fast Technology on June 2nd, as is widely known, Apple’s first foldable screen phone will be officially released in September this year, which is one of Apple’s important new layouts in its mobile phone product line.

Blogger iIceUniverse leaked the iPhone Fold/Ultra mockup ahead of time, showcasing the new phone’s design.

As can be seen, the prototype is basically consistent with the previous renderings, adopting a similar aspect ratio to Huawei’s foldable phone. When unfolded, the inner screen will resemble a small tablet, while the outer screen will be relatively wide when folded, and it appears to have 2.5D slightly curved edges.

The body is pure white, which is in line with the previously leaked high-end and low-key approach. Apple deliberately avoids bright and flamboyant colors, and the final mass-produced model will only choose two solid colors, far fewer than the iPhone 18 Pro series at the same time.

This strategy is similar to that of the iPhone X, where the first generation was only available in two basic colors to prioritize the stable mass production of new technologies such as foldable screens and hinges.

The rear camera setup is similar to the iPhone Air design, but features a dual-camera system.

It’s worth noting that the exact name of Apple’s foldable screen is still a mystery, with the most common rumors in the industry being iPhone Fold and iPhone Ultra.

The device features a custom Samsung LTPO OLED flexible screen. To achieve near-crease-free operation, it uses a liquid metal hinge, which is 2.5 times stronger than titanium alloy. However, the manufacturing process is difficult, and the industry yield rate is only about 65%, which is the main challenge for mass production.

It adopts a mainstream dual-screen design, with the body measuring 83.8mm*120.6mm*9.6mm when folded, the external screen is about 5.49 inches with a resolution of 2088×1422; when unfolded, the body measures 167.6*120.6mm*4.8mm, with the internal screen measuring about 7.76 inches with a resolution of 2713×1920 pixels.

The front-facing camera is completely integrated under the screen, without any notches, punch holes, or other openings, achieving a true full-screen effect for the first time.
