REDMI officially announces Turbo 5 series, see you this month: First time launching Turbo 5 Max!
REDMI Turbo 5 series was officially announced today and will be released this month, touted as “the end game in the 2.5K performance battle from the start”.
The series also welcomes a new member – the REDMI Turbo 5 Max.
According to official sources, the Turbo 5 Max will bring a performance breakthrough, a battery life combination, and a flagship feel and experience.
Based on previous leaks, the Turbo 5 Max will be the first to be equipped with the Dimensity 9 series processor, which is the most powerful flagship chip in its class, while competitors are basically mid-range and sub-flagship chips.
In January 2025, the REDMI Turbo series was repositioned and upgraded, taking over from the K series as the main product in the REDMI 2K price range, positioned as a “trendy performance mini flagship”.
With the REDMI K series being upgraded to “Champion Flagship”, the Turbo series will take over from the K series as the main model of REDMI in the 2000-3000 yuan price range.
As for REDMI Turbo 5, it will maintain its original positioning and be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8500.
This chip is built on TSMC’s 4nm process. The CPU uses an 8-core Cortex-A725 all-big-core design, with the super-big core having a maximum frequency of 3.4GHz. It also integrates a Mali-G720 GPU with a stable frequency of around 1.5GHz.
With an AnTuTu score of around 2.2 million, it belongs to the top tier in the mid-range chip market and can be compared with some products in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series.
In other aspects, the REDMI Turbo 5 series will also feature a 1.5K flat screen, be equipped with a large-capacity Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, and come pre-installed with the Surge OS 3 system.
